Why you feel like you’re trying so hard, but not achieving your health goals

When it comes to changing our health and fitness, there’s a small set of habits that trip us up again and again.

They seem simple, but they keep us stuck:

  • Giving into cravings and wanting “something sweet” after every meal

  • Struggling to fit exercise in

  • The all-or-nothing approach to weekends and social events that undo weekday progress

  • Ignoring meal planning and relying on whatever’s easiest, or what you most fancy…

If we could change these, we’d all hit our goals in no time. But why is it so hard?

The Truth:

The problem lies behind the fact that breaking these cycles means you’re going to feel uncomfortable:

  • Experiencing stress without turning to food for comfort

  • Fear that you’ll “miss out” on favourite foods

  • Saying no or setting boundaries so that you can fit that workout in

  • Worrying you won’t enjoy social events if you eat or drink less - or that someone might notice and draw attention to you

  • Taking on more responsibility at home to make meal planning work

Read these fears again - the bottom line is you think change is going to make your life harder and less enjoyable - thats why you are fighting change.

So change is not easy. But it is possible — and my clients are proving it every day, and finding that their lives don’t get worse, they actually get better.

But… midlife makes this harder

For women in midlife and menopause, it’s not just about habits. Hormonal changes make us less resilient to stress, more prone to overwhelm, and more likely to self-sabotage when things get hard.

That’s why “just try harder” doesn’t work. We need a system, structure, and support.

That’s how I lost 30lb, rebuilt my fitness, and changed my body composition. It’s also how my clients are getting results — one step at a time.

How I help

When I am helping my clients break the habits that are holding them back, I give them:

  • Proven systems that cut through overwhelm

  • Accountability to keep momentum going

  • Clear steps that build confidence and results

  • Extra support when life stress ramps up
